Subject: ebay sensor mods IP: Logged
Message: there are some cheap "power Chips" on ebay for dakotas and pretty much everything else out there. All they do is change the signal from the sensor but does this really work? if so how much horsepower can you get?

Message: you get what you pay for with those things. it's snake oil. save the money and buy a Superchips tuner. way more flexability and cade read codes.

Message: They aren't really chips, they're usually just a resistor or zener diode. They alter the voltage signal from the intake air temperature sensor so that the computer believes it's cooler. If you want to try this you can just move the IAT to a cooler place in the intake, or buy your own 2-cent resistor and ghetto-rig it in there. Don't pay somebody on ebay for one. I doubt there will be a detectable gain in power, and you might fail emissions.
