Subject: exhuast gas IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 1990 3.9 and at idle everything is fine, when I excellerate I get Large amount of exhuast gas and oil into the air cleaner houseing through the breather cap, no heavy smoke out the tail pipe, any help would be appriciated....

Message: Sounds like broken compression rings,or cracked piston. Time for major engine work. try unpluging one plug wire at a time to see if it stops all the blow-by, if it does, that's the cyl. you have some problems with, of course if you have 2 cyl. that are bad, it won't help.
The only thing is, you said it only happens when you accelarate, if its a broken compression rings, it will do it all the time. Just a lot more when you rev it up.
