Subject: larry help no spark no fuel no start

i have a 01 dakota 3.9 just changed plugs cap and rotor 5 months ago the truck has been sitting for 3 months went to start a few weeks ago and did not start i changed the coil still no start changed ignition pick up still no start. right befor i parked truck for winter i changed the alternator because it siezed up and after that the truck ran like a champ. i know the motor rotates because i pulled a plug and air came out the plug hole. have gas pressure at the rail . when the plug was out it was dry after numerous starting attempts. i even sprayed ether in it to try to get it to fire. any ideas would be appreciated thanks fellas

1 has power all the time 1 on off with key

if the onn off does not work nothing will
work check the numbers on a wire diagram
its been a whil since I ran into that

bad splice in harnass about a foot back from
power dist box under hood

any trouble codes

check engine light is not on can you check codes with that not set off? some body else told me possibly a bad relay or fuse thanks for your help

turns out it was abad crankshaft position sensor but it still doesnt idle but stays running with foot on gas but it has sat for about three months

easy way to check that

crank over

plugs wet no spark
plugs dry no fuel

or both

check your IAC back of throttle body
2 #20 or #25 torx

do not pull push or twist on plunger clean with
carb cleaner also hole it goes in see if that
solves the idle prob
