I have a Dodge Dakota99 3.9l and just about this morning I let warm up for about 12 mins. the temperature here is -8 below 0.The over drive or 4th gear is not shifting. I did not have problems before and I have no idea what it is. Its the cold weather causing the problem? or my trans. its starting to have problems. Does anyone know or have any idea? I would really appreciate it with any answer. Thank you!...

if the engine temp is below a certain temp OD will not engage. i think the setpoint is 130 degF.

Thanks for the information daddio!... I appreciate it. when I went to
lunch @ noon the transmission was working normally. like you said
the engine must not have been warm enough. Thank you once
again!!!... and to all the dakotas owners that post their experience
in this forum.
