The stock V6's run 120-140 rear wheel HP

The 1.7's and the throttle body will add anothe
30 to 35 rwhp the exhaust another 10 to 15

But while you have the intake off gasket match
the port at the flange or these numbers will be
lower

This is a big bottle neck in the intake with this
removed 170 175 and better rear wheel can be had

Be sure you do the crank sensor and IAT MOD and
drop 1 colder on the plugs

I have gotten the stock internal with all the
mods and bolton's upto 200 rwhp this is a super
tuned V6

I did the same thing to a 2001 jetta before i bought my 1999 dak. gasket matching is this. see if you take a good gasket and place it on the heads you will see the ports are smaller around than the gasket holes. if you port and polish the heads it will increase air flow to the engine. I'm no motor head but, the more air to the engine the more horsepower. Gasket matching is a smart idea. and i don't know where you live but i would suggest contacting a local college near you that has auto tech. if you buy the gasket and take the heads off you can bring them to the college and the students will do that for you. because they need it for a grade. (my jetta cost me 100 bucks) i picked up a head of a car from a junk yard and then gasket matched the original head and made 400 bucks)
hopefully that helps.

What Joe said is correct, I would add, do the same to the intake manifold as well, it will help on the 3.9's.
Good Luck
