 Subject: 2003 dakota 3.9 will not turn over

just replaced the motor and now it will not turn over. code 1282 shows up. motor does start when i bypass the starter relay. ive replaced the relay and still nothing. the motor i put in it was an automatic but i changed everything from my old motor to this one. so now im at a loss, any help would be great thanks

maybe the ASD relay.

'neutral safety switch' at tranny is connected ?

What you need to do is find the wire don't qute me
get a diagram but 14 seams to ring a bell
This wire in the computer plug at the comp is
used for nutral safty and the starter sol will
not activate if this wire does not receive a
ground
This is your problem
