I have a interesting problem when I am going down the highway 50-65mph and my foot is off the gas for more than 10secs my check engine light come on with the code p0420. Also if i am at a red light sitting for the same amount of time it comes on. The interesting part is it does not happen every time.
Took it to the local shop and they found a bolt on the exhaust manifold was broken off, they can fit a pen into the hole but to repair it they said it would be over $300.00 dollars since they do not know if they can get the rest of the bolt out.

Also did research on the code its not my 02, my C. Converter, Spark plugs where check and all where gaped correct and the timing was on. Going to change my coolant senor

Anyone ever have this problem

If it is the cat (which would not be surprising... my '97 Dakota went through 3 cats) then you might even be lucky enough to get this covered under warranty. I can't remember the details but I got a letter a year or two ago stating that the federally mandated emissions warranty on my '97 had been extended to 10 years (if I recall correctly). Just FYI. I can't remember any more details than that.
