Subject: Alternator Problem?? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I think Im having trouble with my Alternator. My truck ran fine.. It sit for a couple days, then I tried to start it and the battery was completely dead. I put a different battery in and it started up but didnt want to run at all, and the truck wouldnt even idle without dieing. I unhooked the Alternator fuse, and the truck runs fine... As soon as I plug the fuse back up, it doesnt want to run...
Would a bad alternator be causing this, or a bad alternator fuse??
thanks for the help

Message: have the battery load tested. since you mentioned the battery went dead after a couple of days of sitting, it's probably toast.
a weak battery will start the truck but still cause an erratic or no idle condition.

What is condition ' age ' of spark plugs
and spark plug wiring ?
I am asking this , because -possible
coil or wiring [ breaking down ] with
higher voltages applied .
If this not possible = then as above post..
