Subject: Trans IP: Logged
Message: Well on my way to work my trans let go and now i cant move more than a cupple feet before it slips or something it just wont go. I was thinking it is eather the valve body or the torque converter. it has a lil under 200,000 but the oil looks like i just replaced it not burnt or anything i just dont get it. so any help would be much apreciated. thanks

Message: Adam, it could be as simple as the filter being stopped up, you could try changing the fluid and filter and see of that could help. Other wise look for a rebuilt, or rebuild it yourself if you can. When you take the pan off, be prepared, it will make a big mess, if you find a lot of junk in the pan I would suggest a rebuild, if its not too bad I would try a new filter like I said.

Message: i dont think a service would be the fix sounds more internal... sounds like the pump that gets driven off the converter has gone bad or the clutchs in the gears packs just totally wore out.... look towards a rebuild or a new unit
