I think what you are talking about is the same, there are two different axle assemblies, one is a 8 1/4 and the other is a 9 1/4, the way to tell the difference is, the 8 1/4 has a almost round cover with the top and bottom with flat spots, the 9 1/4 looks more like a stop sign and I think they both have only 10 bolts, I could be wrong on that though. I do believe they will inter change just be sure the wheel/tires are the same size and it should be ok.
