 Subject: Exhaust Tips Through Body

I was bored and day dreaming about the Dak like I always do and I was wondering what you guys thought about routing some of those Gibson sport tips (The Dual Square ones) through each side of my trucks body.
I already have the split rear exhaust, but I would just have some new pipes bent up and I will cut a whole in the body, I am thinking near the very back end after the rear wheel.
First question would be will these tips get too hot and screw up my paint?
Second if and when I get my truck bagged will the pipes interfere with the suspension?
If so would routing the tips to come through the body before the rear tire right after the cab solve this issue?
Third if this will work do you think it would look good or bad?
I was contemplating the Gibson sport tips or possibly "frenching" so to speak an angle cut tip on each side. I still haven’t derived a plan of attack for this second mentioned idea.
Let me know what you all think.

CluCool, its an interesting idea, but maybe you should also think about a few other things, like with the pipes coming out of the body, you could wind up with exhaust all over the side of your bed, and that can discolor the paint, and trying to clean it off could take some of the paint off with it. If it was in the rear and went through a valance pan, then that might not be quite so messy, still even then its tough to keep it clean. Some of the older Mopars did that in the late 60's and early 70's, while it did look neat, it didn't take long to look bad.
The thing is, its yours, and if you want to try something different, go for it. If you were to have the pipes come out a couple of inches, it may help keep the body clean, but I doubt if it would stay clean very long.

It will work fine. I think I have something to save you alot of time and contemplating. Saw these on a Titan and loved them. It took me months to find them and Titan man was an A** and wouldn't tell where he got them, FAG. Anywho, I am fixing to stick one in my Tundra. I am going with the double walled, cost more but gives me more peace of mind ya know? Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen those, but at $250 a piece and I need 2 of them, well I think I'd find a better use for that much money. But maybe when I hit the lotto I'll buy you and me a set. Thanks though.
