Message: what year? i have a 2002 and it's much easier to pull the front bumper off. the petcock will be on the very bottom on drivers side. You'll get antifreeze all over the place if you leave the bumper on, same with pulling lower radiator hose. open hood, remove top two bolts on each side of frame, unhook fog lamps, takes about 5 mins. put bumper back to old bolt marks when putting back on.

Message: Thanks guys, i got the petcock off, and just used some old rubber hose to drain it all into a bucket. Now i'm dealing with the entire dash to get to the heater core. Btw, it's a 2000. Does anyone know another way to get to it?

Message: Well... the truck was overheating, and leaking. Down from the firewall, and on the interior a little bit from the vents. And nowi have another problem, i was just gonna wait and have a buddy put the heater core in for me, he's done it before, but now that i put a new thermostat in, its not opening up to let any coolant in, the engine will go up past 3/4 of the way on the temp guage, and it still won't let any coolant through. I'm clueless! Anyone seen this before?

Message: well if you're sure tha tstat is working and installed properly then it's got to be the leak/s in your system causing the overheating. hows the radiator cap? have you tested it?
