" Beware of the blank spot for the %zinc on Amsoil.

 The facts are as follows:

 1. Amsoil products, other than the XL-7500 line, cannot
be API certified because the level of ZDDP exceeds
the API limits which results in too much phosphorus.
This is not in dispute, Amsoil stated this. See:

 "groups.google.com/groups?q=zdp+amsoil&hl=en&safe=off&rnum=1&ic=1&selm=3B02A3A8.185B25C7%40pinn.net"

 2. The API limit on the amount of ZDDP was put in place
because the phosphorus in the ZDDP shortens the life
of the catalytic converter; the more ZDDP the shorter
the life of the catalytic converter.

I read that information and it is old news from 2002.

Amsoil and Redline reduced the amount of ZDDP after studies showed that excess ZDDP could damage catalitic converters.

And that is why Royal Purple switched to MOLY which is worse for the engine but safer for the cat.

The REAL flaw was the material in the cats and not necessarily the levels of ZDDP.

I ALSO LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT API AND SWITCHED TO AMSOIL

All vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have agreed that a warranty cannot be denied because a customer was using any particular brand of oil that meets specifications, unless an engine failure was directly attributable to the fluid. If it is not a fluid related failure, they cannot void the warranty. The law supports this position.

Plus, the dealer/manufacturer has no way of telling what fluid you are using. How do I know? I am a former aircraft technician. I too was sceptical in the beginning. But now I am a believer.

 I WAS WRONG BEFORE.

Amsoil meets and exceeds D/C specs.

and their zinc usage is also responsible for O2 failures you dig far enough youll find it
 its amsoils usual routine
they flood the web to hide all the problems they have with their products

 I know all about that.
The zinc makes its way into the exhaust and sort of solders itself to the O2 sensor.
It's pretty easy to understand if you think about it.
