Amsoil meets and exceeds API specs.
That is all that is required in the owners manual.
All vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have agreed that a warranty cannot be denied because a customer was using any particular brand of oil that meets specifications, unless an engine failure was directly attributable to the fluid. If it is not a fluid related failure, they cannot void the warranty. The law supports this position. Plus, the dealer/manufacturer has no way of telling what fluid you are using.

amsoil COULD NOT get their oil API certified!
they had to cook up a whole new oil just to get ONE API certified!
ALL Royal Purple OILS (with exception to the race oils) ARE API CERTIFIED!
Race Oils do not need to be or get API certified.
You want to make a statement, get the facts straight.

Message: Wow this raised some eye brows
First I did not tell anyone to run out and switch
to royal I said now you can run all purple they
did not cover the +3 +4 before it just begain to
ship sept 2007 to the vendors
And I have also listed the trans fluids we use in
the mopar trans
ATF +3 +4
Amsoil
Red line
These are all very good choices
And any synthetic will show gains in hp, torque
and gas mileage over conventional oils but royal
purple is the only one who has dyno proven there
claims
This only holds true in a motor that is in good
shape and tuned well a motor that runs like crap
and in poor condition will show no gains
this guy with why 9hp over 10 pull your head out
of your butt
All motors will show dif gains and any will show
more running thinner oil 0w30w why not run water
What I was stating was it was shown on hot rod tv
what they got with a chev 350 same oil viscosoty
an instant 9hp now it would no doubt show more
if the vehicle had been driven a few hundred miles
all they did was drain and change and dyno to
prove it worked
The reason I went with Amsoil was because they
had products for all my fluid needs, engine, trans
rear and I still say amsoil is a great product and
have been using it for many years with no probs
and still have 55 gal drumbs of it in the shop
You guys get to worked up over nothing
I look at it this way all syns are better than
conv oil but watch out some are NOT true syns but
a blend and I look at royal purple as the high
performance synthetic I have been running the
royal purple in my truck for a few years now
and getting a dyno of just over 200hp at the
wheels that I could never hit befor and no other
changes it can only be the oil around 190 189
was the best
Every motor will show diff gains from the same
mods and the more hp you start with the more
gains you will see
lets take a 100hp motor add a cold air and headers
may get 10hp
now take a 400hp motor same mods and you would
probably see 25 35hp gains perhaps even more
You need to realize this and live in the real
world why 9hp over 10hp that just crakes me up
seeing a statement like that and I am still
laughing LOL< LOL< LOL
calm down and as I have always said run what you
feel comfortable with
Anyway I did dyno my lincoln with all purple
and it showed some fair gains all same viscosity
motor 10w30w
trans max atf
rear 80w90
all purple drove 100 miles and dynoed
last dyno 375/450 72 degree 78% hum
may 27th 2007 dyno
387/479
12hp gain and 19 torque
temp in shop 72 humidity 63%
dec 7th 2007
the lower humiduty of 15% would atribute to some
gains but not that much
This motor was supoe to be 400hp and 500 torque
but never hit that and I have seen othe 400 fords
same gears same cam the same motor hit over 400
every motor is diff
The other 400 were in there off road race trucks
the 400 ford referd to as the 351 clevlands big
brother or the streached clevland has the
longest stroke ford has ever used in a gas motor
4.0 the 440 chrysler is only 3.75 this brings in
the high torque numbers at a very low rpm and was
designed for trucks and big heavy cars do some
resurch before you make dumb statements you need
to know the facts
in 1971 the 400 had 380 foot pounds at 1800rpm
the 79 motor because of pulution stuff still
rang in at 320 at 1800rpm
there is a big diff between motors and
manufacturers they are all differant animals
9hp over 10hp that still has me laughing

Message: Nice post Larry Thank You.
And yes the gains like you said would not be the same for everyone, it will depend on the baseline HP & TRQ that you started with.
OK unless I missed it?
Do you have a CAI on the Lincoln?

Yes I have 2 tubes that pick up cold air down
at the bumper on the lincoln the only opening
is the center grill and that is just enough for
the rad no room there with the coverd light
motors
they run directly to a 2 way intake 1 each side
actualy more like a ram air system raped with
hush mat so they dont pick up under hood heat
the pickups are like 12" wide and 3" tubes
The car will not see the light of day until like
may when the snow and salt is gone it still has
the origanal paint and vinal coach style top and
has never seen snow just one of my babies
My Dak needs some work getting some rust now but
it was outside the first 5 6 years I had it now
I keep it inside but my garage is to small I need
to add 1 more stall yet 5 cars is a little tight
I have 3 road runners in there also 68,69,70 I
have 30 cars 1 lincoln 1 chevy all rest mopars
they are in the back of the shop

That set up sounds like the ones they used on the ol' Olds 442's.
They went dual intake tubes from the bottom of the bumper.

Message: I'm going purple here in Washington State. I'm support the Washington Huskies, their color is purple. Maybe they should use royal purple as their official school oil-what a match.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
