Message: This is the problem guys. Please do not laugh becouse I do not work on cars or truck very much. Actuall I change the brakes and roters and that is about it.
Not yesterday. I tried to change the plugs, wires, distrubter and roter. Now the truck will not start. I am pretty sure that I have the wires right since I took them off one at a time while putting them on the new distrubter.
It will not turn over for anything. I have no idea what is going on, I put the old distrubter back on and that did not fix it and I have tried putting everything back on and it still will not go. It it like it tries to go then just goes back if that makes sense.

Message: Well, if it won't turn over then it sounds like a problem with your starter. Does it make any sound when you try to start it?

Message: Yea, it makes a noise. I really do not think that it is the starter. When I try to turn it over it is like it backfires threw the carb, some kind of smoke or mist comes out of it.

Message: You've got the plug wires on wrong I bet... Sounds like a typical timing issue caused by either the wires not being on right, or the cap/rotor being aligned wrong.

Message: I agree on the plug wires probably being on wrong. Either that or the dist. cap isn't on properly/seated correctly.
Compare the following diagram to what you have.

Message: LI Blackdak,
I put in my Borg & Warner kit with 9mm JBA wires today and did just that. It ran... on about 3 cylinders. :0/
Realized what I did, smacked myself on the forhead, and fixed it properly. Runs good now. :0)
Firing order and rotational direction, as well as cylinder numbers, -are- located on the intake. Cool
