What is the largest cam i can run in a 93 3.9? It has the original flat tops in it....i don't want to change them....but am curious about clearence. No guessing please. What is the stock cam lift and duration? All help will be greatly appreciated

thanks larry.....it's a 93 3.9 with almost 90 thousand on the clock....i don't mind changing springs, just don't want to introduce the valves to the pistons. will krc know the stock cam lift and duration?

NAPA has a nice cam 190/198 with a .430/.439
lift add the 1.7 harland sharp rockers and its
a little better than the factory cam
and get this only $155
What these cam makers did to me is dumb every
after market cam has to mush lift for the stock
springs so a cam change is around $800 just for
the parts
now they could have made some cams with a .460
.480 lift to run with the stock springs they
would have sold a lot more cams
my 1 stroked motor is running a .484 lift stock
springs they floot around 5600rpm
268/272 at .005
stock lift .432 with 1.7 rockers around .460 and
there is a 18hp rear wheel gain right there around
20 25 torque gain is average
depending on how the cams were speced
250/264 190/198 240/248
all spec diff
some at .004, .005 .050
this also makes it hard for the average guy to
know what he is getting
