Subject: 98 Dak 3.9- More new codes!!! IP: Logged
Message: OK- check engine light's back on- Did a "hard reset" as suggested; no change. Check engine light stays off for a few miles (10 to 20) then it's back on. Up to 7 codes, P0300 thru P0306- all misfire codes. Can be all, can be one, some are "pending". I did however notice something recently that has repeated itself now that it's colder here- the truck runs great at startup, but as it gets to temp it then stumbles quite a bit like it is way out of time (pinging, missing and farting) then clears up and runs fine- but the codes don't come on immediately thereafter. Any clues? I am confounded- It is almost as if it comes off of a "cold-circuit" setting and can't handle the transition- What sensor(s) would that point to- especially if I don't get a code for it??? Recall from my last post there's a new TPS, Crank Pos Sensor, cat, coil, dist cap/rotor, wires and plugs...
Thanks for all your help to date- this is great stuff!

Message: How about the 'temp' sensors - near the top rad hose connection to block - may be under your
A/C compressor if you have.
Also the Air Intake Temperature sensor
[ just to front of throttle body on Passenger side
of intake manifold ] ..

Message: Still having issues- now its colder (snowing today). I replaced the temp sensors as suggested (air charge and coolant temp)- no change. In fact, starts fine, runs OK, then it acts worse sooner- then it clears up and runs fine when up to temp. I now seem to be back to the start- now no misfire codes, just a pending P1391- cam or crank pos sensor code. Those parts have been replaced already!!! HELP! I am desperate and ready to take it to the dealer to find out whats wrong- there's nothing left to replace!!! Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave
