Subject: Tensioner Pulley Change IP: Logged
Message: 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9L
Hello to all,
I'll be replacing my tensioner pulley tomorrow. Seems easy enough--just one bolt, but is there anything else to watch out for?
Thanks,
David

Message: Replaced my tensioner as a whole unit. Only had to remove the coil to get the tensioner assembly out. It was easy. I imagine just replacing the pulley is just the same. I would say use the Napa or dealer parts tho. The one from Autozone did not work right or fit right on my truck. 2001 3.9.

Message: are you changing the pully because it is noisy? if the pully is good you can change the bearing that's a little cheaper and you are only changing what needs to be changed, but if the ajuster is bad you should change the whole thing.
Good Luck
