Subject: active suspension system IP: Logged
Message: what is the difference in rear suspension from an 89Dak and a 92Dak. I would realy like to put the active suspension system by raodmaster on my truck but dont know if it will fit. It seems to me that the rear end and the jeaf springs would be the same? fevertree1

Message: fevertree, I have a Haynes manual 1987-1996
It doesn't show any difference between the years, but the 2 wheel drive have the axle on top of the spring, and 4X4 under the spring.
I hope this helps.

Message: Dakota49, Its made by Roadmaster. Their products are great. I have used many different things over the years from them on my motorhomes. I'm looking to smooth out my ride 89Dak 4x4 conv. along with a lot of other things. I have Chiltons 89-96 and my springs are on top, I guest for a lift in rear end. I think I'll be talkin to you often. hope thats alright? fevertree1

Message: i've read elsewhere that that Roadmaster active suspension helps with wheel hop and load carrying capabilities.
isn't it adjustable also?

Message: They spec the preload, but it seems it could be adjusted up. I'm happy with mine at the suggested setting, helps with heavier loads while not seeming as stiff as add-a-leafs I've used in the past.
