just wondering, would a haynes manual explain how to check voltages on sensors to see if they are working correctly? i think one or more of my sensor may be acting up. No codes.
when i drive the truck i accelerate and let off and it keeps going like my foot is still on the gas. I've replaced IAC already cause i broke it when cleaning it. I have to keep messing with the TPS sensor cause i drilled it out for the mod and and set it around .7v. then i check it again like a month later after the truck starts doing this and it's always off. i thought maybe it wasn't tight enough but. it is tight but i try moving it and it doesn't move but the voltage changes.
i reset it again tonight, started 3 times, and all seemed well. a few hours later with cold engine i drove it and this is when the gas seems like it's sticking. so it's either too tight and it's sticking or the TPS sensor is on it's way out.
any ideas??

Message: nice1, the hanes won't tell you what the volts/ohms should be. If you check for some of the past post you will find some of Larry's he has given that kind of information. I am sure there is a book that will give that info, I think I will try to find where I can get a book like that and let everyone know so we can all get that info.
Good Luck

Message: the 88 also has a vac operated fuel pressure
regulator
when vac drops under excelleration the pressure
will raise from 15psi to around 21psi if this is
not working right it will do what you are
describing
check pressure

Message: so i should check fuel pressure, correct? i don't have a guage but the new mech. down the street will probly have one. He bought the old K-mart auto center here where i live and started his own shop. he's pretty honest so far and is doing a hell of a business. I'll talk to him and see if he'll check it for me. lets just say my fuel pressure is low, then what? New fuel pump, filter?? check when warm, correct?
