I've got a 99, V6,5 speed dakota and have had problem with the idling for about 6 months. When first starting up and letting warm up, the rpm/idle keeps slowly dropping until it begins to sputter then it revs back up. this process continues and usually takes about a minute to idle down and sputter then revs back up? I had a friend check for any codes and didn't show anything? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, just tonight while driving home from work my abs light came on, brake light came on and no speedo odometer. I've noticed some other posts about being a rear sensor by the differential. Just wondering if anyone with a dakota had the same problem and any tips. thanks

your ABS/ BRAKE Light and Speedo not working are from the RWSS located in the center section of the rear diff.the idle problem could be from a weak battery. have the battery load tested. theyn do it for free @ Autozone.

is that idling problem just on a cold start? if it is have your battery load tested. a weak battery will still start the truck but will cause the idling problem like yours does on a cold start.
