Message: Ive thought of doing the same thing to my truck and asked tons of questions about the same subject. If you are going to have a cam you should stick with the 1.6 ratio rockers. I am not saying you cant have the 1.7 ratio rockers and a cam, i just wouldnt recommend it.
If you do deiced to do a cam swap and leave the 1.7 ratio rockers in there. The biggest id go is a 210x cam. If i remember correctly there is enough clearance. Yet you'll need have to flash your comp. I would suggest trying the 206x cam since you said a lil more power. Not sure if you need to flash your comp there but I would suggest it.

Message: Determine what cam specs you want and then tell the cam grinder that you have 1.7rr. They will grind the cam to compensate for the rockers.

Message: The thing here is the cams are speced with a 1.6
ratio rocker arm the 1.7 will add .030 to .040
lift depending on the lobe
stock .270 lobe with 1.6 is .432 with 1.7 around
.460 also will add aprox 4 degrees duration
southeastperformance.com sam will grind a new core
to any spec you want
You can not go with a cam that is more than the
motor will flow you will have a dog on your hands
ported intake and cleand head ports no actual
porting, clean and polish max intake .210 .220
and that is very hot under 2000rpm quit useless
spec your cam for the rpm you plan to run at
don't get the idea the hotter you go the better
that is just not the way it works
