when i was walking back to my truck after prepaying for gas i noticed that my truck is sitting a bit crooked. the lot was level. i though maybe it's just the bed sitting a bit crooked but i look from the front and it's the same way. i measure from groun up to frame and the slumping side is almost 3/4 inch lower than the right frame rail. i know you're thinking this isn't much of a difference but i'm telling you i can sit the slumping.

also, if anyone has read my posts on bump steering and the trouble i've been having with that i was wondering if the truck sitting kind of crooked like it is would cause this bump steering. i checked the rack and it is sitting square in the frame.

now is it my coil spring on the left or is it the leaf spring? and obviously you would replace in pairs so you'd do both coils or both leafs right? i have put shocks on about 3 months ago and had to double bushing the top mount because there wasn't enough thread on the shock shaft to get them tight. they're for my truck too. they are KYB's. i wonder if there is too much absorption because of two bushings on top and making it bump steer. i would think most impact comes from under the mount, i used only one bushing there. personally i think the leaning to one side is causing my problems but that's why im posting here. makes sense cause if they aligned it while it was sitting crooked then technically one tie rod may be longer than the other. alignment guy says all is in spec. he didn't see it leaning but most people probly would not see it until they really studied it.

anyways, i don't haul or trailer anything, why would my coils or leafs go bad at 78,000 miles. is that normal wear? never had frame damage, i bought from new. was hit in front end but nothing that required frame straightening. anyone got any ideas here?

if it was hit in the front the spring could have
been tweaked

I would say the front coils are bad and 3/4 of an
ince will cause many problems the first thing a
front end shop should check is height if I had one
off that far I would not even align it until it
was corected
