Subject: Gas gauge not working please help. IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
I have a 1994 Dakota and my fuel gauge does not work.I'm thinking it is not the guage but a rusty, poor or broken connection at the tank.I got under the truck and it looks like you would have to drop the tank to get to the wires.Does anyone have a clue on this problem?Does anyone know the size of the fuel tank?It has a V6 magnum engine.
Thanks,Jim

Message: fuel tank is 15 or 21 gallon i think for your year. instead of dropping the tank you can remove the bolts for the bed and slide it back.

Message: Could be wiring, could be bad sending unit (attached to pump in tank) or bad pump.
I replaced my fuel pump on my old 95 by removing the bed. I wrote a how-to, thought it was posed on here. you may find it. I may have sent it directly to a few people here. Maybe someone has a copy.
