First, I took off the muffler and tailpipe and put on a cherry bomb that dumps out underneath in front of the axle. Sounds like crap at low revs (sounds like the exhaust rusted out), but sounds great when it screams above 3,000 rpm. The only problem is when i rev it to 5 grand and let off to shift into second i get a loud exhaust pop. Is this something that is normal that i never heard before, or is it due to a lack of back pressure?.
Second, i put a fiberglass cowl induction hood scoop on and i want to make it functional. I don't want to weaken the hood by cutting out underneath the entire scoop. Can i just cut a large rectangular hole out of the hood near the back of the scoop? Also, should i leave the air duct where it is or take it off to get the benefit of air flowing through the engine compartment with the hood scoop??
Thanks,
-Jon
