Message: you only really need to replace them if they start throwing a code, but since you are under there you might as well replace them all.

Message: what is your MPG? Average highway with no mods is about 17-20, city about 14-17. this is what my truck gets and same year as yours but 2wd. Man it's expensive to replace all 4 sensors all at once so unless you've got the money i'd check your MPG and compare it to these numbers above.
do you have v6 or v8? MPG numbers are for my v6 and i'm sure it varies with others. v8 probly gets worse MPG.
i'd start with a full complete tune up. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv valve(dealer only), clean out your throttle body and replace gasket, new air filter, put a bottle of seafoam in to clean injectors. make sure you got no vacuum leaks, etc. do all this and see how she runs and get MPG numbers. all this combined is still cheaper than all 4 o2 sensors, especially if you have no codes or MIL light on. you could replace all 4 o2 sensors and still get really bad MPG due to it needing a tune up. Hope this helps you out.

Message: It got the V6 and im averaging 9 mpg in town and on average 11 on highway. its terrible. I just recently put in new plugs, cap and rotor and that helped a slight bit but not much. It does not pop up any codes when i do the "key on off" just says "p done"
i hear that seafoam works awesome so i think ill try that, but as for vacuum leaks, how would i go about checking that? any easy way to do this? Thanks again for all your help, its greatly appreciated

Message: To quote Flippy " you only really need to replace them if they start throwing a code" .. that is untrue .. if the sensor is failing and its reporting a lean mix when you are really running fine then the computer will dump more fuel to try and bring it back to a stoichiometric mix..... Replace the ones BEFORE the cat ... they are the ones that monitor air/fuel mix ..... the ones AFTER the cat just monitor the cat efficiency

Message: yes, Forseti is right. sensors usually fail hard before tripping MIL light. that's horrible gas mileage!! yes seafoam does work good but it's not going to solve everyone's problems. still worth the $6 or so to try it. Vacuum leaks would be most noticeable at idle which would make it almost seem like it was missing and running rough and again most noticeable on acceleration giving almost the same kind of results. in some cases you can even hear air sucking in somewhere. Inspect all your vacuum lines, most are visibly detectable and others would get picked up by your pcm tripping the MIL light.
i forgot to ask, how many miles on your truck and did you buy new or used? does it lack power or smell of rotten eggs? it does sound like and o2 or cat converter problem or possibly something with fuel delivery like pump or filter. unfortuneately you can't just replace the fuel filters on these dodges. it's a whole days work just to get to the pump!!

Message: are you sure it's not the way you drive? try slowing down a little or not pulling out so fast. is it manual or automatic? consider replacing all fluids like trans and rear differential. make sure your brakes aren't hanging up as well (i.e.- truck will cost when letting foot off brake). how about tire pressure. these thing will all help but to gain 9 more MPG off of your 11mpg on highway, that's something a bit more involved. oh, does it burn any oil. does it do ANYTHING abnormal or what you feel isn't right? post these things if you have them.

Message: what's your front end alignment like? front end alignment isn't gonna get you 9 mpg but stranger things have been known to happen!!! I would try the things that "?????" suggested. just see how they affect your mpg.

Message: trevor, pull your plugs and check the color. the ceramic insulator should be a light tannnish color. if they are black, i'd say change the front O2's only.
is this a RC, CC or QC? doesn't really matter because if your calculating your mileage correctly, 9city and 11hwy is extremely bad. my '00 QC 4x2, 3.9 5spd w/ 3.55:1 rear gets avg 23 hwy and about 18-19 city. it's in good tune and has a V8TB, CPS mod and an el cheapo Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler. in fact i still have the original O2's, and plug wires @ 80K.

Message: well i ahve noticed when im driving the truck and then come to a stop the rpm's drop way down almost as if tis gonna stall but never does, then the rpm's go back to normal. does this almost every time i come to a stop after it hits normal temp. When its cold like first thing in the morning it doesnt do it. I have not noticed any unusal smells from it. I bought the truck used about a yr and a half ago, its got just over 60,000 miles on it.
Ill definately pull the plugs and check the color on them. Its an 02 CC 4x4 auto. Just recently put a 3 inch body lift on and now im running a set of interco trxus 265/75/16 mt/r's. Also got an airaid cold air intake, cherry bomb style muffler and also relocated the iat sensor. I imagine its still got the original 02's in it from factory. Oh and im still waiting for my F&B throttle body {its been 9 months} Thanks again guys for all the info, its greatly appreciated.

Message: Just replace the front 2 closest to motor they
control air/fuel ratio
The back 2 just tell the comp if the cat is
working properly
A lot of times after replacing the front the back
take a crap and trow codes I have also noticed the
back 2 go out more often

Message: Don't forget, don't use the Bosch 02's!!!!
use the ngk's if you can get them. I used the Bosch and my fuel mileage went south fast, put in the NGK and back up to 20 mpg.
Good Luck
