Message: robert,
you have a turbo set up on your GEN I dakota?!
please fill me in on how you put that together!!
and why would you want to switch TO automatic? a 5 speed is what you want..
as far as doing something with the OBDI PCM... you cant do much except a JET stage II chip or.. if you can find one.. a mopar performance computer.
1996 Dakota CC 3.9 manual (rebuilt motor at 9.5:1 compression, Hughes 208 V6 cam, milled heads, 1.6 Hughes RRs, ported intake manifold, Tom Fox PCM flash, FMS 24# injectors, K&N FIPK, F&B 48mm tb, MSD coil & wires, underdrive pulleys, JBA ceramic headers, custom y-pipe to 2.5

Message: hey fed, i just built it from scratch, ordered all of of ebay. I have all the pipe benders and welders i need to make it work, but thinking of taking it off because i can't run any real boost because of the damn timing and the obd1. I only use about 7psi now, thinking of switching to the bottle and putting the turbo on my old ladies stang. I already have a turbo on my stang, but i was looking to fix up this truck to mess with the imports(they won't race the stang anymore) You didn't happen to run your truck at the track or get a dyno done on it did you? You have almost the same set up as me except for heads and throttlebody. I did put ladderbar and coil overs out back with 325/35/15 drag radials. if you have any time slips or any more question e-mail me and i'll give you my phone number.....roberthmartin@comcast.net

Message: if he is going to ad boost
he doesn't want a jet chip
it will advance the timing
you will need something that will do the opposite
otherwise he will end up with killer detonation

Message: SMT6
perfictpowerusa.com
The unit with the software is $430 for another
$75 they will set it up for your truck
fuel + or - 30% timing + or - 20 degrees there
is also a driver for an extra injector while
under boost or rpm swithing axsilery fuel pump
to raise pressure under boost
We are using these on all the dodges also the new
hemis with the s/c's and turbo setups to tune them
total control of timing and fuel when you go
behond a certian point you need to have complete
control over timing and fuel the SMT6 and a nice
wide band nordask air/fuel anolog guage running
with there wide band o2 sensor just weld in
another o2 bung and run from its own sensor this
is what I use in my truck for a/f ratio
I also have a portible unit for checking a/f ratio
the only way to tune
noise at idle would not be piston ping rocker or
lifter more likly
The unichip is also a great way to go they instal
it and dyno tune it as part of the instalation
I have seen gains of 25 to 35hp rear wheel with
the unichips dyno tune
The SMT6 will have the same gains but you instal
and tune yourself keeping a close eye on A/F ratio

Message: thanks larry...a couple more questions...what does a 93 r/c 5 speed no option truck weigh? And how much power will a 3.9 take(stock bottom end) and a ax-15 tranny(what is torque rating and how much power)?
