77,000 on truck and still runs good. notice though the lifters/valves seem a little noisy but nothing that really jumps out and worries me, right now anyways!! just curious, is this characteristic of the 3.9 magnum. I use quaker state 5w-30 since i bought it new and changed oil every 3000 miles and never missed one. Do you think changing viscosity like 10w-30 would help. it will be getting colder soon too and don't want to run oil to thick for start ups. i know alot of guys running synthetic but i hit 3000 miles in like 2 1/2 months and can't afford synthetic every oil change.

I've used 10W30 each oil change since I bought my 3.9 new in late '98. I change my oil every 3K miles too. It now has 120,000 miles on it and I've never had lifter noise. So changing oil might help. Pretty cheap to try.
I'm planning to switch to synthetic on my next oil change and see how that works.
