I have 170,000 on my 2000 Dakota V6 which I bought in 2003 with 30,000 on it. Original motor and transmission. The ONLY thing I have had replaced apart from brakes and shocks is the AC compressor.
I am very happy with my truck and intend to keep it.

Got my '91 Dodge Dakota 318V8 out of a salvage yard in Florida, and payed $1,800 for it. One owner, and original 78,000 miles. Now 3 years later has 189,000 miles and still runs good. Had to reverse starter brushes, patch exhaust work ( whole exhaust is very thin, needs replacing ) and changes oil faithfully with Penzoil (15w-40w ) Bosh air filter, Fuel filter replaced last year, full tune up, replaced 4 used tires, Front brake pads, rotors, front bearings, Recharged AC with sealant, had 1 accident 2 years ago, side quarter panel on passenger side got dented badly. Never replaced that, only the bumper in rear.

The stepson's Dakota (a 1988 SE) has right at
240,000 on it right now.

We're into the steering rack this weekend - the
passenger side seals blew out, it pumps out fluid as
fast as you can pour it in.

2003 Dodge Dakota 3.9L 212,000 Miles had a fuel knock so I did a tune up, rotor button, rotor, rotor cap, plug wires, and plugs. I replaced the belt on it once becaus of dry rot. I have had it from 63,000 Miles and change the oil at 7,000 with full synthetic pensoil. Every thing else is original all the way to the Mopar battery it came from the factory with. I have noticed that the engine seems to have lost some power but my fuel econemy is still the same. I love this little truck it is comfortable and reliable, I have taken it on several trips to Canada and out to Nevada once, I am traveling from Tn to these locations and have no problem with it.

1997 Dodge Van 3.9 260.000 miles runs great wouldn't trade it for anything.
Bought a new Dodge Van in 2003 with 6 miles on it just in case the 97 broke down? 10 years later it has 260,000 miles on it, the 03 I use to pull my boat to the lake, it has 18,000 miles, never been driven in the snow and sets inside since new.

89 Dakota Sport 4x4, 5-speed manual. 2nd tranny just quit at 240,000. Shop quote for rebuilt unit shipped from California to Mississippi is $2392.59 installed. Any suggestions, other options, etc.? Tech says these units were known for issues and that's why they're scarce and price is on the high side...

2003 v6 3.9L 4x4 4door. I love this truck, but it has been a
black hole since bought it. I'm at 122186 miles. Had it three
years and So far have replaced the motor (threw a rod first
year i owned it), pcv valve, plugs, wires, ignition coil, idlr air
control valve, PCM, struts, tires, battery, ujoints on front
drive shaft and rear, rebuilt CV on rear of front drive shaft,
replaced main seal on front of rear differential, gasket on
back of rear diff, fron t rotors, brake pad, front brake
calipers, front driver side CV axle, and it looks like I'm going
to have to do the fuel pump soon... most of that stuff was
within the last month when i hit 122k miles. Ill have a new
truck by the time I'm done if this keeps up.
