Message: My 95 has 122,500 the org motor was pulled and
a stroker crank instaled at 80,000 but the 92
motor I have in there was under 500 miles from
what my speedo read
The motor came from a customer who rolled his
truck
timing chain and tensioner at 90,000 this motor
had the crap beat out of it every day it will be
about a 1/4 to 1/2 Qt low at its 5 to 6000 change
with royal purple 10w30
I bought truck new dec 94 org trans and drive
train will be 13 this dec
What I replaced on this truck in 13 years
1 head light bulb
2 tail ligts
1 backup light
1 cab light
both front wheel bearings 4x4 100,000
rear brake shoes and cyl, hardware kit 100,000
front calipers and pads 100,000
the rotors and drums were good at 100,000 on a
4x4 running in sand and water thats great life
1 front drive shaft 64,000 no greas fittings
my new one has all the fittings
bothe rear u joints no fittings for grease
pitman arm (no grease fittings)now has
idler arm (no grease fittings)now has
the front end has not been lined since new
4th set of tires
sensors
map, tps, engine temp, o2 2nd one
Thats it still have org wipper blades LOL and they
still work good
All syn fluids and reg mantainance done not bad
for 13 years of reliable service I got this truck
has paid for its self many times over
Where I live 16 miles to the nearest gas station
and grocery store you need reliability and the
dak has it even starts at 45 below 0
I forgot my org batt only lasted 3 years that got
a die hard made by gould now 10 years old and
load tests perfict 1100 cold crank amps about
3 to 4 times the org size
I always got like 8 to 10 from a batt than for
years the batts all differat makes only seamed
to last 5 years
This truck broke my record I drove this for 13
years< I had a 1968 plymouth fury III I drove for
10 years as my daily driver 318 Auto 2.76 rear
2bl this car got 23 to 25mpg 2 door canadian
issue, I sold the car to my nephew about 3 years
ago and its still running over 260,000 miles
using 1Qt every 1000 miles but still running
just shows you what good maintainance can do
Its just one of those vehicles you just love to
drive I have other cars and trucks but the little
dak is my favorite plan to drive it another 10
years anyway LOL

Replaced rusted freeze plugs, but thats about it. Both the heater core and evaporator coil are near the end of their life. Warped rotors seem to be a problem for me also. Other than that, this truck is awesome, and I'm sure I will be driving it past 200,000 in a few years.

Give or take i gotta be damn close to 300,000 or well over it. still original motor, tranny. Just lately having problems with the transfer case. But ill still drive it anywhere.

Message: 1997 Dak 3.9L cc 4x2 bought new, put 172k miles on it with the only engine repair being the infamous stretched timing chain. Besides that and a new IAC, the entire drivetrain was original factory equipment including the clutch. It never even leaked a single drop of oil. Unfortunately the engine lost compression in #3, but it'd still lay rubber hitting on the other 5. Recently traded in on an 08.

Message: Hey Larry, I think I got my fury with the wrong motor. I had a 1965 Fury III hardtop with a 383 2bbl 2.73's and got horrible mileage with it. Of course, I replaced the 2bbl with an edelbrock 650 cfm and an RV profile cam. I delivered Pizza for Domino's in the thing, and I think I averaged about 6mpg. Of course, I was never late :D Miss that car, wish I still had it...but not as the daily driver it was for me.
My Dakota (1997) has 170k and is on the second transmission ( replaced by previous owner 40k ago ). This summer I'm replacing the timing chain set as well as the Fuel Pump assembly as my fuel gauge is going wonky on me and I lose fuel pressure when it sits for a while and has long crank times and runs a bit ragged for a few seconds. The pump works fine, just a stupid modular fuel pump/regulator/sending unit....only thing I hate about Dodge engineers.
