Subject: 1990 Dodge Dakota Failed Emissions

Message:
I was given a 1990 Dodge Dakota V6, with 180000+ miles on it. An old clunker, I am trying to get it registered in AZ but it failed the Emissions test for a few different reasons, High HC&CO readings also failed the Pressure test on the fuel system. I was told that there could be several different issues??? This is my first vehicle and any helpful hints would be appreciated.

'Presure test on fuel system' is probably the
Gas Cap.
The failed HC and CO readings are probably caused by Old Catalytis Converter.
But also possible -EGR valve bad.
None of this should be that expensive if either
you do the work yourself , or go to the right
place .
Maybe someone in your area will see this post
and recommend someone to you.
