Subject: Pick-up coil? IP: Logged
Message: I looked up the Crankshaft position sensor at autozone and as a related part they said pick up coil. It is in the distributor or under the cap.
would this be the same thing as the camshaft position sensor? they are asking $25.99 for whatever it is.

Message: yes, they are one in the same. pick up coil, hall effect sensor, cam position sensor(at least on the 3.9/5.2/5.9) CPS on the 4.7 & 3.7 is exactly that. it reads directly from a wheel on the end of the cam.

Message: I griped for years about all these new vehicles and not being able to fix um. You got me covered Daddio. Wheel on the cam I'd like to see that, seems it would be a pretty good way to do it.
Thanks again time to quit talkin and some walking. I've picked up a lot in here.
