are the inner tie rods concealed inside the boots on the steering rack? are these replaceable? the front end on my truck is tight and swervy. just had alignment and inspected, all frontend components are fine. was just wondering about these inner tie rods, you don't hear too much about them.

Message: Mine has real touchy steering it feels like steering wheel isn't tied to anything and just a slight turn and your moving. Is yours real loose like that? I guess we both need answers. Everything looks fine and wheels don't move when its jacked up I mean no slack. I'm watching and learning from everyones posts on here. Thanks Toby or WD40

Message: Hey Guys, I don't know if the rack & pinion has inner tie rods. My 4X4 does, but it uses a different steering set up than the rack & pinion for 2 wheel drives. I think the rods that go inside the boots go directly to the rack and not inner rods. My Haynes manual doesn't show any inner tie rods on the rack&pinion so my guess would be that they don't have any. My book is for 1987-1996.
Good Luck
