is the factory pulley on the steering pump pressed on or bolted on? i see an allen fitting right on front of the pulley. I thought about getting a rebuild kit and doing it myself. i can get the pulley off with a puller but how do i get it back on if there is no bolt to press the pulley back on. i know alot of pumps you buy come with a bolt and washer that you thread into shaft that will drive the pulley on but i don't think you can do this with the factory pump. any help please.

it's pressed on. the threads are further inside the shaft. if you can afford it you'd be better off getting a remanufactured pump, they are guaranteed and everything inside them is new including bushings. you need to get a pulley removal kit, you can remove and install with it.

Don't try to reinstall same pulley. Put a new one on b/c the old one will "walk" back off the pump shaft.
