Message: Ignition timing is not adjustable. There is a crankshaft position sensor on the passenger side bellhousing that the computer uses to sense TDC, and it makes all the adjustments.
The pickup in the distributor is for fuel syncronization, so if you rotate the distributor you will mess up the fuel injector timing.
There are performance mods that can be made to each, but as designed it is not adjustable.

Message: KRC Performance just picked up the SCT Tuning capabilities. They should be able to adjust ignition timing. The SCT is 100X better than Superchips.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer. well at least a stock one

Message: One of the simple mods that people here have done is to remove the crankshaft position sensor, hog out the mounting holes in its flange with a drill til they're oval, and reinstall it, sliding it over *just a tiny bit*. This sets the basic timing at about 3 degrees BTDC instead of zero, for a little advance. Some people mod a new sensor so that if it doesn't work out, they can reinstall the original.
