Subject: Speedometer Stuck at 120mph IP: Logged
Message: Help......
I just finished rebuilding my engine after bending a rod at # 2 cylinder. and reconnecting all and starting her up the speedometer is stuck at 120. When I turn it off and even after the battery is disconnected it stays at 120.
What the heck.........

Message: That happened to me when I got some radiator fluid on terminals. I used a rag by accident that had fluid on it to wipe the terminals. It reversed the charge and spiked it. Remained the same way too after I disconnected it. I used a terminal cleaner and it went back down after reconnecting it. I don't know if that could be it but it's worth trying. After you clean it should go down when you start it if this is your problem.

Message: Somebody else had this problem recently... drive it around for a few and see if it resets itself. The people who posted in that post said after driving it around for a lil bit, it returned to normal.

Message: Great Idea since removing the head allowed coolant to flow everywhere.

Message: That makes the old cable driven speedometers so much more appealing.
