Subject: Shift kits?
IP: Logged

Message:
In the past i recall Larry recommending some upgrades to the valve body that the shift kits didnt have but i have been unable to find that post.
I was also looking at the predone shift kits and have only seen the ones from http://www.apsprecision.com/
and http://www.thefastman.com

What is a good way to go? Get the predone shift kits or do ur own? Also what were the other upgrades Larry had mentioned that transgo didnt include in there kit?
Thanks

The 02 RE
TransGo TFOD 518

The best shift kit but a little more expensive
is the one from smrtrans.com

This kit replaces a lot of springs and does an
excellent job with the valve body

Unlike the other kits that just tell you what to
do smr's kit tells you exactly what each mod will
do and you can set your trans up exactly the way
you want it

replace the filter and use some Amsoil synthetic
you will be very happy you spnt the extra money
for there kit

The smr kits are all we have been using latly

The transgo is a hit or miss I always ended up
removing the body 2 or 3 times to get them right

I have not checked with TCI there kit for the
89 to 98 is another excellent kit you can check
with them they should have a kit for the 99 and
up RE now tciauto.com

APS presision sells only the transgo kits

The trans can be set up as mild or wild as you
want

sonnax also makes a sure cure kit that will solve
most of the customer complaints about the trans
