Message: OKay heres the problem I put on a round open element hat on my truck instead of that ugly stock factory hat. But the hose from the PCV valve from the passanger side does not have anywhere to hook up? I remember reading before someone saying that it goes into the side of the intake manifold but the hose is WAY to big and it obviously does not go there. Any suggestions?! thanks

Message: That sounds like the air breather hose that connects to the valve cover on the left side of the engine. (passengers side) The PCV valve is on the drivers side and is a small hose that come off of the PCV valve and connects to the
intake manifold. Where did you get a different hat from?
If the hose doesn't stretch because of the different hat size than you need to get a new hose. Autozone or any auto parts store should have it.

Message: Remove the hose and plastic elbow and install a push in breather element ..... but you have to remember to change/clean it once in a while ...

Message: ...it shouldn't affect things by using a different breather. Sure beats having no breather hooked up at all.

Depends on the year. My 92 has the breather on the driver's side and PCV on the passenger side.
BTW, the driver's side is commonly referred to as the left side, and passenger is right side - from the perspective of sitting in the vehicle, not facing the engine with the hood open. If you order any parts, you will want to use the conventional reference.

Message: nub .... if you replaced the factory air cleaner system with a open element one you have already screwed up for the emissions test. Your valve covers have baffles in them so oil wont be spraying out.. plus its sucking air in anyway not blowing it out ....

Message: LOL
changing the air cleaner system will not effect
emissions
The dodge uses a map sensor not a MAF sensor
MAP manifold absolute pressure
MAF mas air flow
The map reads vacume and is not effected by the
flow
Now with a MAF its differant its a few small wires
that are heated and the air flowing over them
changes the temp some new vehicles with the MAF's
just outting a cold air setup on will trip codes
than a recalibrated MAF is needed this will effect
emissions big time but not with a map sensor
Your talking about the crank case vent if the
PCV was not hooked up your idle would be severly
effected
either glue a fitting on to except the hose or
get a nice crome filter breater and stick it
in the hole on the cover
