Message: Engines are engines! You say the dash was all light up,lite up, lit up (not sure which is correct). Now starter won't turn over. How about checking battery(could be the alternator went bad). What is you mileage? You can take the alternator to any number of parts stores for a free check of it. Remember start with the basics and the work up from there. If you engine turns over but doesn't start running make sure you are getting fuel ( smell inside the throttle body) .
I should listen to my own advice. Check the battery cable connections first! LOL
Good Luck

Message: ok first of all as for the lights on dash i had abs, brake, check engine on until i came here and got the tip to replace the rear speed sensor everything was ok. Then engine light came back on and here i was traveling @ 65mph and she began slowing down on her own i released the pedal and accelerated again and she would resume speed but that would go on for about 5 miles the she would be fine . after i parked her the last time i went back to leave and there is nothing no click to indicate it is my starter but yet all my buzzards are going off i have lights{head} even tried a different battery i will try the alternator . i definately want to go basic before major and yes alot of rust lol shes like me thats why i love her. as for mileage 211203 they had put a new motor in 2 years ago ive only had her 1 year ill try your tips one thing i did notice when i popped her hood is there was a wire that came from the negative post on the battery that had broke it was attached to the body{i guess it the body} which i take to be a ground i just wrapped it around the screw and screwed it back into the hole{i know i need to put another one}ialso was thinking since shes so old and i live in texas where weve had alot of rain and now big pot holes that ive hit before seeing them maybe a wire broke from the starter but someone told me the starter is on the driver side chevys been on the passenger is this right

Message: could be the infamous #115 splice. in the wiring harness about 6-8 inches below the PDC(power distribution Center) unwrap the tape. there is a factory splice of (i think) 3 wires into one. if that splice looks corroded redo it.

Message: According to my Haynes Manual, it says to remove the ground battery cable first, then disconnect the steering shaft coupling from thesteering gear and position the shaft out of the way, then remove the mounting bolts/nuts for the starter then move the starter forward and up. Mine is an 88, and I did this before, but I never removed the steering shaft I just twisted the starter around until I could get it out. I have a four wheel drive to make matters worst, but I did get it out and back in without too much trouble, but a 94 might be a bit harder to do.
Good Luck,

Message: one day woke up tried to start ye old 94 DD and it wouldn't start. It will start when I connect the hot side and the neutral side on the starter. I don't know if the starter solenoid is bad or neutral Safety switch, hate to have the go around and throw good money after bad. haven't checked the #115 wire yet either. How can you be sure without taking out that dam*d starter? heard it can be a M/F.. new battery, any body got an answer? heard that the #115 wire is under the battery... is that right? thanxz
