2002 Club Cab 3.9 2wd
When backing and turning the wheel to the left, I hear a lond single pop sound from right front wheel area. Usually only when I hit the steering stop. If braking a bit hard in reverse will make the sound even if not at steering stop. After it does this, I can "reset" it by braking hard while moving forward and makes same sound.
Does that make sense?
Any idea if it is a problem?

sounds like a ball joint. have you had the recall done for the upper ball joints? won't cost you anything, shouldn't anyways! Might want to check tie rod ends too.

go to www.ddoge.com with your vin in hand. there is a page there for you to check on recall work done to your truck using either the first 7 or last 7 digits of the vin. it will tell you which to use.

Does that mean all recalls have been done?

probably your wheel bearing/hub assembly. Dakotas are prone to failure around 90K miles

Ball Joints, Probably Upper, but I'd replace up/down on both sides, or you'll be doing them all anyway over the next 6 months! Same thing happened to three of mine! It's a B***H!
