Message: After all my various mods I'm starting to see gas mileage improvement. Changing to an electrical fan seems to have had the greatest effect. Maybe with the stock fan it was coming on too early and drawing power because with the electrical fan hardly comes on. My mileage went from about 16 mpg to 19.6 mpg on the highway. I still plan to change to synthetic oil and put in Halo plugs and a performance computer.

Message: I have always seen that fully synthetic oils help with mileage and power. I know that Horsepower TV did that once on a Camaro and got around 9 rwhp. Not too bad.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer. well at least a stock one

Message: I have been thinking about switching to an eletric fan myself. You think about it, not turning that big ole clutch fan, could only add something. Thanks for adding that ElmerFudd, it really only makes sense.

Message: ElmerFudd,
Adding sythetic oil to the engine, differentials and tranny alone may give you 1 0r 2 mpg improvement. Since you have a MSD6a installed, go with the Halos go 1 range colder than stock B-DR15YC-1 at Haloplug.com. Roger is good to work with gets the plugs delivered fairly quickly. I running a set in a v6 dakota with good results, and also getting good results with the same plug in a 2000 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 liter v8. How has the wabbit hunt'in going?
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: I have the plugs you suggested but am waiting for my performance computer. My thought process is since the computer has to adjust to the plugs over time why not wait until I put the new performance computer in. (It's back ordered)I also have Royal Purple sythetic oil to put in but am using a sluge flush (RX something) that removes sludge over a period of time. Got about 700 miles to go before I finish the cycle. Sythetic oil to the differentials and tranny is a good idea, hadn't thought to do that. With Wabbit season around the corner I'll start putting more miles on again which is good because the more I drive the more better she runs. Actually, I prefer to shoot them big Wabbits with horns using my bow. Lets me be more sneaky, heeeeeeeeeeeeee!
