Message: the 1.7 RR's are quicker to install
and you will see results were your looking to gain
a cam would give you more
however alot more time to install
and more money
installing a cam you should also do valve springs and timing chain while your in there

Message: For the money, the cam is better if you do it all yourself, yes the cam will take longer, but i believe you will have more pride in your truck when you have it all put back together!

Message: The 1.7's
They are cheap
Harland Sharp around $300
18hp and 25 torque at the wheels
very little work the harlands are a true bolt in
rocker no adjusting needed the valve cover gaskets
unless they were replaced with some aftermarket
crap are reusable a very well designed gasket
that don't leak
Expensive
Cam
you have to change the springs buy all kinds of
gaskets a set for the V6 is $125 the cam change
parts alone $800 minium that does not inclued
any labor costs
gains around 25 to 35hp 30 to 50 torque depending
on cam and setup and Lots Of Work
for the price, the amount of work involved and
the real world rear wheel gains they are worth
there weight in gold
