i just did it today, its simple. its a big ugly grey thing w/ 2 wires comming out. its directly under the altenator bracket.
took a dremmel to my intake and poped that iat in there, and sealed both sided with some rtv silicon. then plugged the iat hole on the intake with a 1/4" npt pipe plug. took me an awful 5 minutes + 20 minutes of drinking beer. awww beer!

i don't know about gains. i did it to cure a heat problem, i live in cali and it gets damn hot. putting the iat in the intake is to level out the performance when it gets hot (i think i said that right). any ways, i have too many mods to tell if the iat is contributing to anything, but did notice that today it was running like it does on a cold morning!! and that is a good thing.

oh and about the under-hood light thing. 2001 didnt come with them. so i put bright white neon strips under the hood, they help a ton, and look cool when your driving around at night :P
