Message: I'm building my own turbo kit for my 93rc 5-speed. I'm basing it off my turbo mustang. A couple questions thought. What do people do for and adjustabel fuel pressure reg? I'm using 30 pound fms injectors out of my old supercharged setup for the stang. Also what kind of pistons do the old mags have(forged, cast etc)? Last question, Is it worth the extra money to port the heads, and intake? I will have all kinds of torque with the turbo, so losing low end means nothing to me.....really need some top end power to work with the huffer

Message: ive been working on a turbo setup on my '03 Dakota for sometime now. MSD is the way to go, check out their products. As for pistons those are cast, you need to swap those out for forged pistons or run under 15lbs of boost or your gonna crack one sooner or later, also porting out the block and putting sleeves in would be a good idea! FYI. YES!! its worth the extra money! differently on a force injection setup. Look into getting a 210X forged cam for that as well and top that off with a 2x50mm throttle body, and you should be good once you flash the comp to the new setup. If your still running rich on that setup get a 2x52mm throttle body! so installing a air/fuel ratio meter would be a good idea. if you can get the intake manifolds bore to the throttlebody be bored out to a 2x53mm this will leave some room just incase you want the 2x52mm and shouldnt be too big where it will cause a vac leak, measure to make sure though!

Message: Your 93 has cast pistons and will handle 6 to 8
pounds of boost
One thing you can do is get some machine work done
on the crank and use the 318 rods & bearings this
will make the lower end very strong
You need a blow off valve to keep the turbo
spooled during shifting
Be sure you open the flange end of the intake up
to match the gaskets just clean all the casting
leavings and just polish
30lbs is a little big you will have a very rich
idle
21lbs will be enough and you can setup a FMU
fuel management unit with a secondary pump run
40 45 under boost raise to 50 55psi with a
boost switch so when it comes under boost the
pressure goes up
This is how we setup the forced inductions with
fuel injection and it works great
Also use the 92 SBEC V6 mopar performance computer
just put DCC-5249521 into the search at
summitracing.com $258.95 this comp has way more
agressive timing and fuel maps you may also need
a boost retard
And a good cam KRC or Hughes engines
hughes engines also has a good choice of pistons
any 318 mag piston will fit the V6
Oh ya the mopar comp also has no rev limiter
the stock 93 cuts at 4800 rpm if you do the
318 rod upgrade you can turn these V6ers 6000rpm
safely
I am shifting my stock internal V6 all boltons
and mods at 5200rpm
A500 42RH it will chirp 2nd and 3rd
Or use an apexi or other fuel controler
If you want total control over timing and fuel
the SMT6 around $500 perfictpowerusa.com
Have fun

Message: Thanks for all the imput. A couple more questions do i have to machine the crank to use 318 rods? Will there be any need to bore the cyl or just hone them, if they are in good shape. On my mustang i used file fit rings, what about on this 3.9 are they available? I'm also trying to get away from running an fmu. Is it possible to change the rails and use a adj fuel pressure reg? If so what swap would you recomend? Will krc or hughes custom grind a cam for this? thanks in advance.
