i got a 2002 quad-cab SLT w/3.9 in it i have been thinking about up grades for performance and gas mileage. ideas would be a great help. i was thinking of msd 8.5mm wires, new plugs (not sure which yet), k&n intake, tb spacer/vortex valve,high output coil(was told wasn't needed, flow master muffler?? any thoughts.

Forget the TB spacer, it's a waste of money that doesn't do anything.
Go to www.speedtweaks.net and check out the 'Tips and Tricks' section. I did the IAT Relocation and the TPS Voltage mod, those helped. You may also want to look at www.fast4x4.net and check out his Throttle Body porting, I did that too. :0)
Go with the Autolite plugs, you can get the number off the site somewhere. If you go with a new coil consider getting a Borg & Warner cap and rotor, also maybe a 180 Degree Thermostat.

Speaking of T.B.'s,
Is there anyplace that I can pick up a used one for a 99 3.9. I want it to modify so the DAK stays on the road as much as possible.

PRYMORDIAL, you looking for a used v6 or v8 TB? If you're looking for a V6 one, I have one I'm looking to get rid of.
99 Sport, Solar Yellow, DJM 5/7 drop, 18" Coddingtons on the way, 180* tstat, IAT adjuster, autolite plugs, JBA 8mm wires, cap and rotor, MP Intake, JBA headers, 5.9 V8 TB, FUTURE MODS: too many to list
