Message: i'm suspecting possibly that the rear brakes may be adjusting to far out and causing the brakes to stay applied. Can anyone tell me what parts i need to fix this? What do i replace? Springs, cable, adjuster???? is there a kit that has it all in there, like everything that is in the rear drum and replace it all and be done with it? I'm also wondering about the wheel cylinders. i've already replaced the front calipers, they wore out basically and froze up. the wheel cylinders are cheap and wouldn't hurt to just replace them but there are two sizes pep boys told me. theres a three quarter inch bore and then there is a one inch bore. he said to look at the wheel cylinder and it will say. well I looked and don't see crap!! my truck is 2002 3.9 5spd reg cab, anyone know what size wheel cylinder?

Message: 3/4" is probably for the RC & CC trucks because the QC's have larger rear drums.
QC's - 11" drum
RC, CC's - 9" drum.

Message: All you have to do since your replacing them is remove one of the rubber boots on the end and measure the bore. It probably wont be exactly 1" or 3/4" but it will be close enough for you to tell which one you need.

Message: Buy both return what you don't use. Something to keep in mind. The cable for the parking brake. They can rub on leaf springs and get hung up(won't slide freely). $20 or so at Autozone. While you're at it go over the parking brake system thoroughly. Grease all cable to housing areas.
I spent a few weekends trying to figure out why after a shoe change my brakes were dragging. Drums glowed too!

Message: i have a 1997 3.9 5 speed regular cab and u have to watch out for that cause u could get 9 or 10 rear drums 10 were an option with the tow package so if it still applys to that year if u have the tow package i would guess u have the 1 inch bore But i believe it tells u what size your rear drums are on the sticker in the glove box
