I have an 89 dakota v6 but was wondering what is that sensor that sits on the left top with two wires plugged into it?and can it be replaced ...I have loooked in Haynes but could not get a description....Thanks

i know what the neutral safety switch is but i have 2-3 more and want to know what they are for...i think one is a coolant sensor but not sure...

coolant sensor on your tranny? do u mean atf? I dont believe these trucks have a low atf warning, at least mine dosent. gear indicator maybe?

No coolant sensor on 89 trannies.

On the left rear top side, a 3-wire plug leads you to the solenoid pack for the lockup torque converter and overdrive, if your truck has that.

So you're just curious, there's no operational problem? You might want to buy a Chilton's or a Factory Service Manual.
