Message: I have spoken with Fastman and he says his 46mm V6 TB is all you could ever need on a V6. He said they took it as big as he could without showing any loss in performance. You have to keep in mind his TB also includes a new thinner stainless steel and thinner brass throttle blades which increase airflow and he removes the airhorns and puts a nice radius around the bores for better airflow. I talked to him after buying the V8 conversion and stripping out a screw in the throttle shaft while trying to do a home port job. I asked him if he could take my V8, remove the airhorns, radius the bores, put his stainless shaft and brass blades in it but leave the torque step so it is still a 48mm. He's making almost the same amount of money, but is disappointed I didn't opt for the 46mm Fastman which would have been the better choice. But, oh well, no turning back now:) And the Fastman is only $20 more than the conversion because you don't have to change your throttle cable.

Message: A V8 Fastman TB will produce minimal gains compared to a V6 Fastman TB? Is this one of those instances where bigger isn't always better? I've got a stock V8 TB I'm trying to decide what to do with. Install it as is, or ship it off for a Fastman V8 TB job. From what I'm understanding, I should opt for sending it to Fastman for a modified V6 TB instead. Oh the confusion! =)

Message: You can ship to him for a modified V6. He offered to take mine if I hadn't hacked the air horns off. If he does his actuall "V8 job" he will remove the torque step so the bores are a true 50mm which is too big. Especially with the thin shaft and blades. He is doing everything but removing the torque step on mine since I'm stuck with it and he says it will be too big. Yeah, I'll see HP and TQ gains, but off the line may bog a little. There is (was, he wrecked it) a Gen III CC V6 auto that ran 11's with a twin turbo and a Fastman 46mm TB. Like he said, it will provide all the air we will ever need. Should have talked to him before:(

Message: Ok, today i installed a TB from a 99 Ram 5.9L and the difference is amazing!! I didnt port it or anything. I just cleaned it and the sensors and stuck it on with a new TB cable. It would have taken me 30 minutes, if i hadnt stopped to play around with the old throttle body and then go to the store to get a 6-pointed tip for my screw driver(for the sensors). The throttle is stiffer and it has mo get up and go to it.
I have a question though....
The pedal as stiff as the other one right at first, then it gets really stiff. I was wondering is there a way to oil that cable or something, or is there a period of break-in for the cable. It doesnt really bother me but i would like it to be really smooth.
Thanks Guys!

Message: Disconnect the cable and actuate the throttle body by hand. If that is your problem the bearings in it might need oiled or something. They are open to the environment.

Message: Chad: If your injectors are dirty, which they probably are if they have never been cleaned or changed, then yes you will see a difference. If you put on a V8 TB you will get more power. If you put on a Fastman V6 TB you will get more power. Never seen a direct comparison but I bet they are pretty close in flow numbers. And the velocity on the Fastman would be better because of the bore radius.
