Guys, I've test driven an R/T, and the cornering was a little better, but it also had wider wheels, etc, and I'd expected a lot more. A friend of mine (also a V6er but not on the board) got the Hotchkis drop and their Bilsteins and I about wet his seat with the corners he could take. For reference, I have a short cab with the 15x8's, no handling mods. I can take an S-curve by my apartment at around 65 tops with the tires screaming. He whipped through it in his CC breaking 80 w/o squealing. Note, though, that he DOES have 15x8.5's and his contact patch is probably 9 inches wide. Still, that's just freakin' awesome. Someday mine, too, will ride low and fast!

Quick addendum, I'm not saying the R/T suspension is bad at all. I'm sure the weight of that 5.9 worked against the one I test drove, too. Just saying that if you can afford the Hotchkis, it's definitely worth it. Personally, I want the R/T's wheels, and a Hotchkis drop and their sway bars!

I got my 3.9 dropped 3" front and 4" rear using djm control arms and belltech componets and i can out haqndle a r/t any day.. i had a r/t try to out handle me and he keep going wide...if i was you i would getting aftermarket lowering products..It will be cheaper and you will corner better and i had 20"s on my truck while cornering.. but if you don't want that low you can drop it 2" in front and 3" in rear..theres many options out there for you..

Make sure you use lowered springs and not blocks. Blocks are crap and your leaf springs will be too close to the ground. The R/T suspension is a fairly cheap option and it won't look like a lowrider.

I was also thinking about going with the complete Hotchkis suspension until Bernd mentioned that he is working on something with Quickor.

Personally, I am going to wait it out because I heard that Quickor is just as good if not better and it will also be cheaper than Hotchkis.

Hey I had a couple things to ask to some diffrent people.

Jesse - How do the duals sound on your 3.9. My new truck I just bought is a 3.9 and I am wanting a little more sound out of my exaust. I don't want to sound like a rice burner, just get a little more roar.

Will 400 dollars get a good 2/3 drop? I went to belltech's site but I couldn't find anywhere to purchase one or get a price. I am wanting it be be a bit lower and ride even, will 2/3 do it. And if there is anyone with picturess of a 2/3 that would be great.

Thanks

you guys need to consider your truck weight, a v-6 is lighter than a v-8, thus r/t suspension might not be a good idea, but scotty said he has it, so i dunno, its 2 different trucks. just somethin to think about.

and to dubbeddakota, djm control says that they are similar to stock ride quality, they're not they are much more mushy that a stock setup. obviosly, all they do is create a deep pocket for the stock spring, it may lower your center of gravity but not nesesarily make you handle better. good handling comes from a stiff suspension setup (dont even try to argue that one) hotchkis springs are about the stiffest you can get, the arms DO NOT COMPARE WHATSOEVER i dont care how many r/t's you out handled. springs are the way to go if you want stiff suspension.
