Subject: blower motor resistor IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2004 Dakota. Today my defroster motor stopped running. On my 95 Dakota, the resistor was easily replaced because it was on the firewall. Not so on the 2004. I am told that it is located in the heater box. Could this be true? How the heck can you replace it without tearing apart the dash? (I repaced the heater core on the 95, I vowed never to do that again -- my back still hurts!)

Message: I was under the impression if the problem is the speed resister the motor still runs on high. How about fuses.

Message: Actually , I believe I saw a post about 'this
problem' where 2004 did not have a "resistor block" . But instead an "electronic controller"
mounted under the dash , I believe passenger side..

Message: Aldur,
Where is the resistor and how do I get to it? if it is in the heater box under the dash, that will take over an hour to take apart and put back together.
